#248: Earth School Gym Class
Have any of you ever exercised?
You know what I’m talking about, right?
That thing you do where you move your body in specific and intentional ways, usually because doing so gets you a result you like?
I’m asking because the shamans think that life is a lot like this.
In their worldview (which I have also decided to adopt), each of us chooses to come here.
Not because Earth is some grand picnic (though it can be). But because coming here has value.
Profound value, actually.
In their worldview (which fills me with soaring delight), a visit to Earth School is a visit to the best university in the multiverse.
The very best!
Because a visit to Earth—well, that’s a quantum leap in the awakening process.
And, in the shamans’ worldview, awakening is the name of the game.
Not material accumulation, though that’s part of the Earth School curriculum.
Not having the best hair or the nicest clothes or the most flawless skin, though I’ll happily take any of those.
But awakening. The journey each of our souls goes through as we evolve, lifetime after lifetime, incarnation after incarnation.
I thought this was going to be a super relatable musing about how the shamans can help us liberate ourselves from victim consciousness by reminding us that we’re here on purpose…
But then it turned into a musing about my belief that we don’t just journey through multiple lifetimes—we also journey through multiple planets, species, and forms of being.
So, perhaps less relatable than I intended.
But anyway—if you’ve ever gone to the gym of your own volition…
If you’ve ever moved your body in a way that pleases you BY CHOICE…
Well, I think the whole human experience is kinda like that.
We chose to come here. And, since we’re already here, might as well make the most of it, no?
Xo,

Morning Musings is a delight-first writing practice where I wake up, put my fingers on the keyboard and see if any ideas want to play. The cherished humans who read these musings tend to see them as an invitation to slow down, have a virtual cup of coffee together, and contemplate the human experience.
