Choosing Easy
I believe, at a cellular level, that Sam and I could get the results that we’re seeking from IVF by working with shamans.
That any obstacles to bringing children into the world could be cleared just as effectively by indigenous wisdom keepers and medicine men/women as by these Western doctors that we’re working with.
And yet, here I am: choosing Western medicine over working with my beloved shamans.
Does anyone find that odd?
I’m curious because no one’s asked me about it. No one has asked why my deeply (deeeeeeeeply) devoted to shamanism self is over here using Western medicine to address a problem that shamanism could solve.
And would you like to know why I’m doing it? Why I turned to Western medicine instead of shamanism?
The answer is remarkably simple:
Western medicine is the easier solution in this chapter of our lives.
And I trust easy.
Easy is right.
I could get into the details, but I think this is a more powerful message if I stop here.
Love,
Your friend who trusts easy

Morning Musings is a delight-first writing practice where I wake up, put my fingers on the keyboard and “learn in public” (credit: Liz Gilbert). The delightful humans who read these musings tend to see them as an invitation to slow down, have a virtual cup of coffee together, and contemplate different perspectives on life. One reader says, “It’s a breath of fresh air to read musings from someone spiritual, yet with their feet on the ground,” and my Mom says that my writings make her day :)
