I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why)
I’ve had three false starts this morning, writing-wise.
I think it’s because I’m feeling scattered. I’m not grounded, centered or zen at the moment. Instead, I’m a bit chicken-with-my-head-cut-off-y.
And, while I don’t think there are many people reading this who care about false starts with their personal writing practices, I imagine that lots of you can relate to feeling scattered. Off center. Chicken-with-your-head-cut-off-y.
So I’m going to share what I’m doing.
I’m listening to Alabama’s “I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why)” on repeat.
I'm in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why.
Over and over and over again.
Then I sing it. Over and over and over again. (Including on an interview–fortunately before the interviewer hit record.)
So yeah…that’s my solution. My high brow, Earth-shattering, “wow, isn’t she fancy?” solution.
Alabama’s “I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why)” on repeat.
But honestly–I recommend it. Listen. Then listen again. Then again. Let it sink in.
There’s gold in there.
I'm in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I'm in a hurry and don't know why.
Wishing you an centered, grounded and un-scattered day with ZERO RUSHING,
