#250: Human Orchid-ing

If you, like me, happen to be a human orchid, then radiant, vibrant, ermahgerd-do-I-love-being-a-human-on-Earth well-being is unlikely to ever “just happen.”

To my understanding, at least. The whole orchid-dandelion thing is only a theory, not a proven fact. But it’s a useful one, so we’ll play with it.

Human orchids, like plant orchids, have exquisite environmental sensitivity. When you tend to a plant orchid in a beautiful, tender, attuned way, it flourishes.

The beauty of a thriving orchid? Incredible. Stunning. Life-affirming and joy-giving.

But if you don’t tend to it in a beautiful, tender, attuned way?

If you over- or under-water?

If you don’t give it enough sunlight?

It withers.

Almost instantly, I might add.

And that’s what going through the world as a human orchid is like.

When those of us who are extra sensitive to our environments tend to ourselves in beautiful, tender, attuned ways – we thrive and flourish.

Our ups? They’re a thing to behold.

But when we’re out of whack? When we’re over- or under-stimulated, over- or under-boundaried, over- or under-... watered, slept, fed, loved, danced – you name it…

Then we wither. Quickly.

And I’m contemplating this particular topic because I am an orchid who has “work” as a key component of my personal well-being formula.

In order for me to thrive, to blossom, to flourish in awe-inspiring ways…

I need a bit of time to play with words. To market my offerings. To learn and grow and expand.

And, whenever I get back from this maternity leave (maybe May?), I think that I might play with an orchid-focused offering.

Using shamanism and Human Design and the Gene Keys and Integrative Change Work (a wildly effective modality that’s all about self-directed neuroplasticity) to help other orchids find and live their personal well-being formula.

Because, just like any plant orchid owner can tell you – an orchid needs a “formula.” You need to know how much water, sunlight, and fertilizer the plant requires if you expect it to survive.

And you, you possible human orchid – well, you need the same. There just happen to be a few more ingredients than water, sunlight, and fertilizer.

Dandelions and tulips – you’ll be just as welcome to partake in this offer. We all have human needs. We all need to tend to them. We all need to clear the obstacles that interfere with us tending to them.

And once we know what works for us…

Well, it’s quite magical, if I do say so myself.

Xo,
